Duck Eggs

The types of eggs we offer are:

Balut

Duck Egg Balut

Balut is normally sold as 17 day incubated duck eggs. That is what we sell unless we have a specific request for less, or more, developed eggs. We will sell up to 21 days by request. Balut

17 day balut is available every Monday.

Salted egg

Salted Duck Egg Salted eggs are ducks eggs that have been preserved by soaking in a salt solution. With an egg white that has the salty flavour and the yolk that has an oily/gritty texture, these make a great snack food loaded with protein. Or combined with tomato and onion they can be a main dish or a side dish to your meal.

Salted Duck Egg and tomato

Salted eggs are available when the salting process is complete, there is no specific time as the process can take more or less time depending on the eggs, temperature, and other factors.

Note that we do not dye our salted eggs red.

Soupy Penoy

Soupy Penoy Soupy Penoy is an anomaly that occurs during the incubation period. It is either an unfertilized egg or a fertilized egg where something goes wrong and the embryo does not develope. The texture, when cooked, is not really soupy but more like a creamy or custard filling, with a more solid part (bato or "stone") in the bottom. Soupy Penoy

Soupy penoy is not predictable, so sales are first come. They are availble on Mondays when we have them.

Dry Penoy

Dry Penoy Dry penoy (tuyo) is an anomaly that occurs during the incubation period. It is either an unfertilized egg or a fertilized egg where something goes wrong and the embryo does not develope. It is dryer than soupy penoy and resembles a boiled fresh egg, though the yolk is a little creamier. Can be used to make kwek kwek and tokneneng. Kwek Kwek, KwekKwek, Tokneneng

Dry penoy is not predictable, sales are first come. They are available on Mondays when we have them.

2024 Prices and Ordering Eggs

We take orders through email and our facebook site. See our Contact page for more information!

Eggs can be mixed types. (For example you can order 12 eggs with 6 of them balut, 3 salted, 3 soupy penoy.) No minimum of each type. We have created these deals based on how many eggs we can get into a particular box for the best shipping price we can get from USPS.

Hatching Eggs

Our ducks are a combination of a variety called Golden Layer and another named White Layer. They are not big birds and thus are not the best for meat, however they do lay a lot of eggs!

You are not guaranteed to get pure white or brown. You can end up with either, both or various combinations!

Hatching egg prices are $3 each. Discount over 25 eggs. We do not guarantee how many will hatch due to conditions in your incubator being out of our control. However, we do guaranteed that least 80% (more like 90) will be fertilized. In order to get a refund or credit there is one condition. You must candle the eggs on the 7th day after receiving them (should be in your incubator as soon as you receive them) and send us the pictures of all your candled eggs.

We also offer something unique for our local (pick up order) customers. We will start the incubation process for you, and provide 100% fertilized eggs after we candle at 7 days. NOTE, you must have your incubator ready and warm when you pick up your eggs from us (sorry no shipping as the embryos would likely not survive). You should also bring an insulated container or box with blankets to keep them warm during the trip home. Pre-incubated hatching eggs are $7 each. We still cannot guarantee how many will hatch due to conditions in your incubator being out of our control. If incubated properly you should see nearly 100% hatch rate, though there is always a chance for an embryo to die during the incubation period.

Hatching eggs are available daily! We can provide unincubated eggs as either washed or unwashed. (Washed eggs MAY reduce the number of eggs that will hatch.)
